KEDAINIAI, Lithuania, June 4, 2018 – Few activities elicit such an insipid response in children as accompanying mum or dad on a “bring your kids to work” day. But at Lifosa, EuroChem’s flagship production facility in Lithuania, they do things differently.
Explosions, fireballs, rainbows and liquids of all kinds were part of an unforgettable experience at the event, which saw youngsters get to grips with the science that forms the basis of the local economy and provides the world with vital ingredients for fertilizers.
“The idea behind this is that the Family Day helps to strengthen the relationships between employees and also boosts employee morale. It is really important that we help colleagues foster links with the family back home,” said Lifosa’s General Manager Jonas Dastikas.
In all, 102 children took part in the Family Day extravaganza on May 15 at the Lifosa site, one of Europe’s most advanced fertilizer plants.
After a fun-packed, eyebrow-singeing science show that saw the kids play with test tubes and various liquids, the youngsters set off on a guided tour of their parents’ workplace, getting to see fertilizer production in action.
After more than 55 years in operation, Lifosa has built a solid reputation as one of the most dependable employers in Lithuania. Staff turnover is extremely low, which means many of the same faces come back year after year, accompanied at times by the patter of tiny feet.
