Today, the members of the New Bolshoi Opera Stars project will perform in Zug during the Russian Cultural Seasons Festival sponsored by EuroChem.
New Opera Starsis the Bolshoi Theatre’s project for young performers. It is designed to foster a new generation of Russian opera singers to represent the glorious Russian opera school in the global arena. The project brings together young performers and the best opera maestros from the most prestigious opera houses across Europe and America to help hone their talents.
Elmira Shcherbakova, the head of the organising committee of the Russian Cultural Seasons Festival, commented: “We hope that our festival will achieve two objectives – further and strengthen cultural ties between our nations while also gaining greater profile for Russia’s cultural heritage. Russian Cultural Seasons is an annual festival of Russian culture held in Switzerland for the third year by the Peace and Harmony charity foundation. The festival brings the best of Russian arts to the Swiss nation in a series of guest performances by Russia’s top artistic groups with an aim to strengthen cultural ties between Russia and Switzerland. In 2014, the Russian Cultural Seasons festival has brought its events to new Swiss cities. The support from EuroChem has made it possible for the festival to organise the event in Zug for the first time.

Russian Cultural Seasons is a traditional festival of Russian culture offering art exhibitions, meet-the-artist sessions, performances, plays, lectures, dramatic readings and gala receptions celebrating the Day of Russia and Russian Language Day. The Festival was first held in the Swiss Confederation in 2012, when it sparked genuine interest among both Russians living in Switzerland and Swiss audiences. At various times, the Festival has featured such big names as Mikhail Shemyakhin, Yuri Bashmet, Irina Rodnina, Marina Zudina, Anatoly Smelyansky, Konstantin Khabensky, Igor Butman, Oleg Tabakov, the Russian Cossacks Dance Company, the International Youth Chamber Orchestra, Moscow Soloists chamber orchestra, Chekhov Moscow Art Theatre, and many others.
