Gas and liquid carbon dioxide (СО2) is a colorless gas or colorless liquid, with slightly sour odor and flavor. Gas and liquid carbon dioxide is used for the creation of protective atmosphere in metal welding, for food purposes and in production of carbonated drinks, dry ice, for chilling, freezing, storage of food products under direct and indirect contact with food products, for mold drying, fire extinguishing and other purposes in all industries.

Gas and liquid carbon dioxide is non-toxic, explosion-proof.
Liquid carbon dioxide in pressure vessels are transported as carload shipment in box cars; it is also may be transported by automobile transport in special tanks.
Shelf life of liquid carbon dioxide:
- in pressure vessels – according to GOST 949-73 – 2 years from the date of production;
- in cartridges for household siphons – according to GOST 19136-80 – 1 year;
- in tanks – 6 months from the date of production.
