Preserving biodiversity in Brazil

As part of its commitment to the principles of sustainable development, EuroChem implements large-scale environmental initiatives aimed at preserving regional biodiversity. We run long-term monitoring projects and actively develop environmental initiatives in collaboration with employees, contractors and local communities.

Salitre complex runs long-term fauna monitoring programs to protect the biodiversity of the Cerrado — a Brazilian savanna, home to unique wildlife.

Using remote cameras and field studies, the environmental team tracks valuable species, building a scientific baseline that helps protect local habitats and inform responsible land management.

This work is part of our wide-ranging commitment to operating in harmony with the surrounding ecosystems and preserving the natural heritage in the regions where we operate.

Furthermore, we are convinced that partnerships with local communities and the involvement of our teams strengthen Company’s sustainable development.

In 2025, our Brazilian employees and contractors helped distribute 1,280 saplings, along with samples of fertilizer, at our operational areas. Another 300 trees were planted on the grounds of 14 local schools.

We also donated native seedlings to the Youth Environment Guards project for planting in areas neighbouring our sites. This initiative, led by local authorities, engages students in the practical study of environmental protection issues. We believe that children become agents of change, inspiring their families and communities to create a greener planet.
