Zug, Switzerland, April 20, 2018 – EuroChem Group AG (hereafter “EuroChem” or the “Group”), a leading global fertilizer company, and Hektaş Ticaret T.A.Ş (Hektaş), a leading Turkish crop protection company, have signed an agreement to supply, market and sell premium fertilizers in Turkey.

By combining EuroChem’s expertise and pipeline of high value-added products with Hektaş’s extensive distribution network and customer loyalty programs in Turkey, the two companies will develop opportunities for EuroChem’s current product offering, and expand sales of next-generation fertilizer products across the country. The one-year agreement can be extended upon mutual agreement of the parties.

EuroChem has been active in Turkey for more than 10 years, selling standard and premium fertilizers to farmers growing a wide range of crops. Agriculture accounts for about 25% of Turkey’s workforce and 7% of Gross Domestic Product, according to the World Bank. Turkey is the 7^th-largest agricultural producer in the world and a top 10 global producer of fruit, wheat and cotton.
