EuroChem improves working conditions at Kovdorskiy mine

EuroChem announced today that it will proceed with the construction of a dining facility for the workers involved in the development of the “Zhelezny” open pit mine at its Kovdorskiy GOK subsidiary.

Representing investments of RUB 5 million, the facility will be located on the western flank of the pit and will provide hot meals to workers during their work shifts, which can last up to 12 hours. The modular kitchen and dining facility will be fully-equipped with appliances and capable of seating 38 people. The supply tender was awarded to CSR Group (Moscow).

The new facility is expected to start operating from June 2011 and will further improve working conditions for those engaged in the development of the 600 meter super-deep “Zhelezny” open pit mine, which is a part of Kovdorskiy GOK;s development strategy running up to 2019.
