EuroChem and John Nurminen Foundation discuss technical expertise

Moscow, March 23, 2012 – EuroChem today announced that representatives of EuroChem and the John Nurminen Foundation met in Helsinki from March 21 to 22, 2012, to share environmental technical expertise in industrial effluent management. The working visit included a tour of one of Yara’s fertilizer facilities in Siilinjärvi, Finland, and centered on the neutralization of phosphorous in effluent discharge.

The parties exchanged information on the latest developments in environmental safeguards, research, and sustainable development within an industrial context.

“We are pleased to have established such a cooperative dialogue with the John Nurminen Foundation and are equally grateful to Yara for hosting us at their Siilinjärvi facility. While EuroChem utilizes leading technology at all its subsidiaries, these technical visits always provide valuable additional insight into industrial processes” said Alexander Tugolukov EuroChem Engineering Director and Management Board member. Mr. Tugolukov was accompanied by four directors from EuroChem’s Phosphorit facility, including Plant Director Vladimir Erlykov.

“Our goal is to offer EuroChem the best Finnish know-how for controlling phosphorus production discharges into water courses. We hope that by sharing our experience we can promote solutions that are sustainable for the Baltic Sea” commented Juha Nurminen, Chairman of the Board of the John Nurminen Foundation.
